Continuing Education for Practitioners

Easton Health and ASE Seminars present:

Speaking the Same Language: Transformation, Metabolism, Immunity, and the Microbiome in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Modern Physiology

Course Description

Chronic metabolic and inflammatory diseases such as obesity, diabetes, autoimmune conditions, and gastrointestinal disorders have become increasingly prevalent worldwide. Patients frequently seek acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for these conditions, yet practitioners are often asked to explain TCM concepts using modern biomedical language. This course addresses that need by providing a translation framework that links classical Chinese medical physiology with contemporary research in metabolism, microbiome science, endocrinology, and immunology. By understanding how mechanisms such as insulin resistance, inflammation, gut barrier dysfunction, and microbiome disruption relate to traditional diagnostic patterns, practitioners can communicate more effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals while preserving the conceptual integrity of TCM theory. Additionally, this course addresses the need for a whole life approach to treating disease, including the application of dietary therapy and lifestyle modifications identified in both traditional practices and modern science.

* In-person attendees will receive a special bonus guide for patients:
